Please join us for guest speaker and award-winning artist, Debra Halprin, an expert in the fine art of giclée printing. Debra will discuss best techniques in which to photograph artwork in order to create a hi resolution digital file or for printing Archival reproductions, otherwise known as giclée prints.
Pronounced "zhee-clay," giclée produces an archival, high-quality inkjet reproduction that is fade resistant and waterproof. Prints are made on such archival substrates as cotton rag paper and canvas.
Discover what the printing process entails, how to photograph your artwork, the questions to consider when having your artwork reproduced, and various methods of enhancing your reproductions in order to make them unique in their own right. In addition, there will be discussion about Artificial Intelligence, and its relationship to the giclée process.

Debra Halprin
Debra Halprin is an award-winning artist who has worked in watercolor, acrylic and oil to produce custom portraits of people, pets and estates. Her work has been in numerous juried exhibits including the National Portrait Gallery, and featured in many publications including The Washington Post. In 1998 Debra began researching the Art of Archival Reproduction, and her printing ability soon became well known throughout the area by local artists. 20 years later, she has mastered the talent involved in the creations of giclée printing, and is the owner of "A Work of Art by Debra Halprin", a company which creates giclee' fine art reproductions and Digital Images for Artists and Galleries. Debra enjoys working with Artist and their latest creations, discussing their art and producing the best archival reproduction possible. It's very satisfying when the artists tell her "that they prefer the print to the original painting".powered by ACEweb from ACEware Systems, Inc.
