This course will explore stories about biblical women by considering topics like the vulnerability of women in times of war, the wisdom of mothers in the Bible, and what about Queens-is there one prototype? We'll look at the similarities and differences in the roles of mothers, wives, concubines, and maids, including stories of mothers who took great care of their children and others who did not. Sex, power and sexual violence will also be examined through various stories including how women used sexuality as a way to affect men's behavior and achieve their goals. We'll explore more as time allows and emerge with a broader understanding of Eve's daughters.
