Explore the fundamentals of drawing in this six-week course designed for all experience levels. This course is ideal for you if you're looking to build your confidence in drawing in a relaxed atmosphere. We'll focus on learning to truly see-translating what you observe into lines, shapes, and values with graphite and charcoal. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, you'll explore essential concepts such as gesture, contour, value, and composition. The course includes work with still life, self-portrait, and drawing from photos, helping you build confidence and skill at your own pace. Sessions feature a mix of instructor demonstrations, exercises, studio time, and group critique to support your artistic growth.

Kate Katz is a painter and graphic designer based in Maryland. Inspired by the pursuit of deeper meaning in everyday life, Kate creates custom paintings that include family and pet portraits as well as Judaica art.
