Have you ever returned from a trip to a marvelous destination, looked at your photos and felt disappointed with the results?
Until recently, producing, editing, and sharing photos could be a complicated undertaking. The process would require state-of-the-art cameras, pricey lighting equipment, and elaborate backdrops. It would require access to editing software that was often expensive and baffling. Finding the perfect level of exposure, shopping for the right light sources, and putting together the result you wanted took lots of time and practice. However, the advent of the smartphone has now changed photography dramatically, putting a host of new tools at your fingertips. You just need to know how to use them.
You'll learn how to unleash the power of your smartphone camera! This beginner-friendly class will guide you through the essentials of mobile photography, from understanding the exposure triangle to capturing stunning images using your phone's built-in features and editing apps.
This six-week course will not only deepen your technological knowledge of how to operate the iPhone or Android to suit your photographic needs, but it will also show you how photography fundamentally works. We'll learn all about the artistry and creativity that are involved at the root of the photo-taking process.
We'll cover a range of topics, including camera basics, composition, lighting, editing, as well as social media sharing, organizing images, and in-class critiques.
Join me during the second half of the Fall semester at The Carnegie for a fun-filled and instructive photographic experience!
