Thanks to a developing partnership with Carnegie Science, Osher at JHU prsents an Insider's Lab Tour with Mike Walter, Director of the Carnegie Science Earth and Planets Laboratory. You'll learn about the lab's remarkable legacy and the current research taking place on campus. Come explore state-of-the-art instrumentation and engage with leading scientists in multidisciplinary fields. Shaun Hardy, Carnegie Science Librarian Emeritus, and Maggie Drain, Archivist and Digital Asset Manager, will assist on the tour.
The Earth and Planets Laboratory is a consolidation of The Department of Terrestrial Magnetism and The Geophysical Laboratory. As its research agendas evolved, the lab has contributed substantially to new scientific disciplines such as isotope geochronology, biogeochemistry, mineral physics, astrobiology, and the multidisciplinary study of exoplanets.
