Vladimir Fridman

Vladimir Fridman, earned his degree in civil engineering from Moscow Hydro Melioration College and in music from Moscow Music College Pushkin. Despite the promise of a career in engineering, he pursued his passion for the guitar. Born and raised in Moscow, Russia, he was active in some of the best Moscow theaters and in a Philharmonic orchestra. As a member of the show group Jazz Balalaika, Fridman toured Europe, the Middle East, and Japan and released four albums, as well as performing in concerts as a soloist, accompanist, and in ensemble. He arrived in the US in 1998 and became known to the musical community in the Greater Washington, DC area, as a musician in several bands and as a gifted composer. He now operates a successful Guitar Studio and his students have won awards at the Montgomery County and Maryland state levels.
