This course will cover the evolution of fashion and the relationships between fashion industry sectors. We will dive into the different segments of business from Women's, Kids, Men's, Accessories, and Home. We will discuss in depth the history of fashion from the Industrial Revolution to 2024. We will dive into present day fashion trends and industry shifts, such as sustainability and online shopping. Upon successful completion of this course, the students will better understand the evolution of the history of fashion and describe the formation, structure, and operation of the fashion business. Years of Professor Gordon's personal interviews with industry guests support the lectures.

Caroline Gordon Organisciak

Caroline Gordon has been an adjunct professor at Fashion Institute of Technology since 2018, teaching across both business and art and design. Caroline has worked in fashion in New York for 18 years across multiple American brands, including Ralph Lauren and Ann Taylor. Today, Caroline runs a consulting company by her own name in New York City. She has experience in womenswear, home and kids, with a focus on buying and wholesale sales.
