A deep dive into the third member of the "Holy Trinity" of High Renaissance art alongside Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. Painter, draughtsman, architect, archaeologist, designer of prints, and the greatest teacher of the three, Raphael Sanzio (1483-1520) produced a legacy that dominated Western art until the early 20th century. The class will present the new insights gained during the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of his death in 2020, overshadowed at the time by the pandemic.
