In the second half of this class, we will discuss the Jewish state's near destruction at the hands of its enemies in 1967 and 1973, the road to peace with Egypt culminating with the Camp David Accords, the continuing struggles with the Palestinians, the failed Peace Process, recent events that have rocked the country from within, and outbreak of war with Hamas in October 2023. The lecture will be supplemented with a slideshow presentation. Recommended Text: Return to Zion: The History of Modern Israel by Eric Gartman.
